This role involves diagnosing technical issues, performing repairs using appropriate tools and techniques, and ensuring appliances are safe and functional. The technician must possess a strong understanding of electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, and be able to work independently or as part of a service team. Excellent customer interaction, problem-solving skills, and the ability to handle multiple appliance types are essential for success in this role. This is a field-based role that often requires traveling to customer locations and working in diverse residential environments.
Installation & Setup
Set up new appliances (e.g. refrigerators, washing machines, ovens, dishwashers, etc.).
Ensure correct electrical, plumbing, or gas connections as required.
Repair & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in appliances.
Replace faulty parts and perform routine maintenance.
Use diagnostic tools and follow service manuals.
Maintenance Services
Perform preventive maintenance to extend appliance lifespan.
Clean internal components and check for wear and tear.
Customer Interaction
Explain issues and repair processes to customers clearly.
Provide usage and care instructions.
Handle service reports and billing if needed.
Technical Knowledge: Understanding of electronics, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Multi-Appliance Skills: Ability to handle a wide range of appliances like:
Washing machines
Refrigerators
Air conditioners
Microwave ovens
Gas stoves
Problem Solving: Diagnosing complex issues quickly and accurately.
Manual Dexterity: Handling tools and appliance parts safely and efficiently.
Communication: Clear communication with customers and support staff.
Minimum: High school diploma or ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certificate in relevant trade (Electrical, Electronics, Refrigeration, etc.)
Preferred: Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
Certifications: Appliance-specific training or OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) certifications are a plus.
Fieldwork (at customers’ homes) or service centers.
Travel required for home visits.
May involve lifting heavy appliances or working in tight spaces.

Entry-Level: ₹12,000 – ₹18,000 per month (India)
